Contributions and company outcomes
Great Boulder Resources reported project and corporate progress
FY25–FY26 as stated in cited issuer disclosure · issuer reported · medium materiality
The FY26 annual report describes the Side Well resource reaching about 1.02 million ounces and the year-end Peak Hill acquisition. These are issuer-reported company outcomes; they do not establish each executive’s causal contribution.

Directly identified technical work on GBR resources; project delivery remains pre-production
Side Well resource update December 2025; Peak Hill acquired May 2026; annual report dated 18 September 2026 · issuer reported · high materiality
Great Boulder’s 2026 annual report identifies Paterson as the Competent Person for exploration results and mineral-resource information and says the reported work was prepared by him. The report records 1.02Moz at Side Well and a 481koz Peak Hill resource following the acquisition. This supports a documented technical role and company project progress, not personal credit for every discovery or a realised return; the projects remained pre-production.
Attribution: Individual involvement documented. The issuer explicitly attributes resource information and supporting work to Paterson as Competent Person. Acquisition decisions and project-level success are not solely attributed to him.
Relevance: Directly relevant to his technical MD remit and transition from exploration to project studies.

Business failures and setbacks
Paterson described early Mount Magnet South role as a difficult start
2006–2008 role; retrospective account in 2023 · self reported · medium materiality
In a sponsored 2023 interview, Paterson said his first managing-director assignment at Mount Magnet South, begun in 2006, was “a bit of a disaster” as a first corporate role. The statement is his retrospective description; the interview does not specify a project loss or quantify an outcome. An issuer presentation records the company completed its IPO and acquired the Kirkalocka operation in 2008. No personal misconduct or individual causation of later company outcomes is established.
Attribution: Individual involvement documented. Paterson personally described the experience as difficult; the factual scale and company outcome are not independently quantified by the interview.
Relevance: A candid early executive challenge is relevant context for evaluating later executive learning, but it is not evidence of repeated failure.

Litigation and enforcement
Court granted curative orders after delayed share cleansing notice
23 March–13 July 2023 · documented · high materiality
Great Boulder failed to lodge a cleansing notice within five business days after issuing 18 million placement shares on 23 March 2023. The company relied on incorrect or incomplete legal advice, suspended trading when the problem came to light, lodged the notice on 10 July, and asked the Supreme Court for relief. The Court found the company and sellers acted honestly, that no substantial injustice was shown, and granted the requested validating orders. Paterson swore the primary affidavit and led the disclosed response; the judgment did not find personal wrongdoing by him.
Attribution: Individual involvement documented. Paterson provided the company’s primary affidavit and was MD during the event; the Court attributed the legal interpretation failure to advice received and found honest conduct. No personal misconduct finding was made.
Relevance: A material disclosure-control incident and subsequent remedial action during his current CEO/MD tenure.
