Community advocates in 2016 raised concerns over the San Andrés mine’s planned cemetery relocation and treatment of protesters. Goodman signed Aura Minerals’ response disputing the allegations, explaining its position on authorisations and reporting a temporary operating suspension; a later account of the dispute and original court outcome were not established. Later, 2022 independent reporting said Honduras ordered suspension of activities in a project area until a permit was obtained; a 2025 issuer-commissioned technical report says cemetery relocation was completed in 2021 following a court order and compensation.
